Western Explosion VideoHi Speed Only
It is time for spring fishing in Utah. Longer spring days quickly melt late season snows. The midges and Baetis are in full bloom. Big Rainbows have taken up residence on shallow, gravelly riffles and began to spawn. The Browns are vigorously feeding on anything they can.
The rivers are finally emerging from their winter slumber. This is the time to get out and give the fish a look at your fly.
This weekend we did just that. Good friends always enhance the fishing experience. One of my buddies actually landed his first fish on a fly (another fine soul has succumbed to the disease). What a weekend for fishing, 60 degrees, sunny morning and afternoon clouds.
The question of weather to fish or ski was easily answered and it was a matter of what you wanted to catch fish on dries, nymphs, wet, midges, Baetis, Caddis, Sow Bug-it did not matter. The fish were on the feed. The best part for me is getting some good friends out on a new river and into fish. Take advantage while you can. Long cold winters make for hungry fish. And watch out for the redds!
dude – nicely done. i love the nymph dance that your buddy did at the beginning of the video – that’s what probably caused things to “Explode”.
that video was nice – i have been in the digital content business for a long time and there is one thing i have learned to be true about all types of digital content.
bad content makes you want to click your mouse, ok content keeps you half interested, good content makes you feel a little something, great content makes you want to watch it again AND THE BEST CONTENT makes you jealous as hell.
that video was a piece of great content!
ps – most things on the web, in my opinion, fall somewhere between bad content and ok content. i love this site because i truly feel that everyone contributes good good – best content and as our content repository builds – we are left with something that is in essence very difficult to achieve. A digital environment with volumes of Quality content. The text, the pics, the videos…all of it…in its small individual parts and together as a whole make up something valuable. And, finally, the cool thing about quality content is that it is like ALL good things. It takes time to build and it takes teams of people to participate. Good content can not be produced overnight. In the digital world quick, fast and sooner than later seems to be the prevalent mind set – THEREFORE – the web is innundated with poor content. Thanks for adding to this site and keeping it a constant source of quality content.
Thanks Jeremy. I really appreciate the kind words. This site is a lot of fun for me and others I am sure feel the same way.
Superb! It looks as though your boys had a sweet time. That’s what it’s all about, I love turning good friends on to great fishing. There is just something mystical about it to me. Keep the content coming it just keeps getting better!!
Tightlines,
Dave
