Can’t take the cold! I could not stand it anymore. Cold weather, can’t fish and Snook calling! I’m here in sunny Florida home of the Snook, Tarpon, and Jacks. First night here I managed to catch 2 of my favorite 3. 10:00pm under my snook light bang a nice keeper snook took my micro minnow. Around the pier up and down the sea wall 5 minutes later I landed a keeper ( that what everyone here says” hey that’s a keeper”) I admired my catch and let him go. Working the sea wall and other lights I hit my second fish. The infamous jack ! Hard hitting, hard fighting a true carnivore. The school of jacks were working finger mullet, busting bait out of the water. I made several casts with the micro minnow but too small. A quick change to a #6 gray and white deceiver and that did the trick. First cast and I …was on my way to a joe-m grand slam tarpon – snook –jacks. Fate was not with me this day I fished a few more hours looking for some small tarpon that hang in a shallow cove near my place. Nothing, no tarpon today. I think the water is to cold. The day was still good I caught 6 snook and 3 jacks. Better than being cold and trying to cast a fly thru an ice hole! Hope to se ya is Florida Joe-m.
