Jeremy how are you man? I just got back from an amazing journey to Southern Patagonia on a a solo fly fishing adventure. I have been guiding everyday here in San Pedro in Northern Argentina for Dorado and teaching fly fishing. I hope you can join me here next year for the fall run as it truly is and unreal fly fishing experience. Huge trout 3 to 15 lb class. All trout are fighting as hard as ever. Free camping and crystal clear water all to ourselves. Beauty beyond words. I am learning more each day and fly fished with a gentlemen of about sixty or so years old. He had the most amazing cast I have ever seen. I put my fly rod down and watched and admired his shear grace as with no effort he roll casted amazing distances to the opposite bank. It seemed as though his fly rod was part of his arm. He caught one beautiful Brown Trout after the another.
I learned more from him in one day than I had learned in many years of fly fishing on my own. He was humble and answered all my childish questions with the elegance and wisdom of an elder. It was with his advise that I quickly changed my fly and preceded to catch one of the biggest Rainbow Trout I have ever caught…if not the biggest the strongest for sure. The fish had me deep into the backing before I could blink. Anyway attached is a photo of him. I found out later he is one of the most famous fly fishermen here in Patagonia. He has been fishing these Argentina waters for the last forty years, catching world record trout and not even taking pictures. But those are the truest characters in these parts of Argentina. Here is a photograph that I took of probably just one of the thousands of beautiful Patagonia trout he has caught throughout his lifetime.
Wow, what an experience and a true destination on my “Must do” list. Keep the stories coming!!! Grade A adventure. Keep up the good work
